Reminds me of the time somebody stole Jeter's glove. Difference is, Jeter could still field like a champ.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33779660.post-23307597382672515292014-01-13T00:34:19.328-05:002014-01-13T00:34:19.328-05:00It was wierd seeing Stevie in the Lucas role, Luca...It was wierd seeing Stevie in the Lucas role, Lucas in the Henderson role and Henderson in what was a long time ago the Stevie role? bizzaro.

Yes it was Kolo who lost Crouch for that header.

Suarez also had a heavy touch in one pass to Sturridge which went for a corner when Suarez was in a much better position. So Suarez isn't really a selfish player.

Any win at Stoke is a good win. Ultimately though this team could do with two players, one who can tackle in midfield and one who can win headers as a center back - the players that we have are good but those two roles would make us title contenders. Also Coutinho getting shooting boots next year would help.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33779660.post-40516848590358176282014-01-12T20:07:34.150-05:002014-01-12T20:07:34.150-05:00Yea it was Kolo on Crouchy. Was a decent cross to drop it right on his noggin, but Kolo most definitely should have maintained his mark and not let him get wide open.

Nothing makes my head explode quite like watching that slow moving, short, fat-ass, none too bright, Stoke brilliant midfield general, yes the one and only one Charles Adam, drill a shot between Skrtel's legs right into the corner of our net. Nice back-pass Hendo. Right to Adam. Don't worry about actually playing the ball to Stevie. Then Skrtel, as he is wont to do, backs off and backs off until the "attacker" is almost in the box. It's just fat-ass Charlie, Martin. Close him down and take the ball away. Aly also needs to realize it's just FA Charlie too. Close him down and take the ball.

We got a little bit of good fortune. The ref calling that PK. A hip check and simultaneously pushed Sterling down from behind. I thought it was a little bit more of a pen than most. Stevie converted it nicely. Never a doubt.

We were always going to take the match after the Studger came on. Beautiful set up for the Luis curler to the far corner. Sweet finish too after that crazy save, sliding down, then getting up, keeping the ball in, chest it, head it, drill it in the lower corner. Luis should have played it back to Studge for an easy tap in at the end there instead of drilling it at the keeper in an attempt for his hat-trick. He at least realized his "mistake" and pointed at his head saying "got to think a bit better" in those situations.

Our first 3 goals were all a bit fortuitous. Shawcross OG, Skrtel hoofed clearance followed by a terrible back header followed by a missed clearance by Shawcross (I think it was Shawcross) for a Luis tap in, and then the Pen call. I look at it as the 2 Hull ping-pong ball goals evening out.

Great to get a win and 3 points in any case.

Please no more Stevie as DM and Lucas as CAM. Too crazy. It worked this time only because the football Gods were with us today. Fully understand that BR wants to find a way to get SG in the team for 90 minutes and not affect his World Cup summer plans. But there must be a better way. No?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33779660.post-57266827985592862212014-01-12T19:14:42.448-05:002014-01-12T19:14:42.448-05:00though his last ditch clearances are very good, sk...though his last ditch clearances are very good, skrtel has got to stop his shirt tugging of opponents in set plays... he is living dangerouslyadinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33779660.post-91039677005442583472014-01-12T18:14:45.193-05:002014-01-12T18:14:45.193-05:00I think Kolo was guarding Crouch for the header, n...I think Kolo was guarding Crouch for the header, no?
