Benayoun never seemed match fit, and if he's to play on Thursday, it's going to be disastrous simply looking at his current form.

Birmingham rode their luck, but they made it so as well. Tough nut to crack at home all season, and I think it's quite apt to say the Brum's defenders had an easy time until Ngog came in and gave them the run around.

Sure, Torres would've been the preffered finisher, but would he have the legs to carry him to those chances that Ngog had?

And Ngog, oh Ngog. Poor chap, if only his finishing was half as good as Torres.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33779660.post-71993167897617730142010-04-04T19:13:01.769-04:002010-04-04T19:13:01.769-04:00But yeah, end of the day, Liverpool should have wo...But yeah, end of the day, Liverpool should have won. Three good chances for Ngog, three for Maxi, one for Babel and Stevie. Any one of those gets buried and we're relieved beyond belief.

Oh, and Georger, the Aquilani "block" wasn't THAT bad. Probably would have hit the defender or been saved if it didn't hit Alberto.natehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10043601945557998732noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33779660.post-67386582720271121712010-04-04T19:11:17.031-04:002010-04-04T19:11:17.031-04:00Actually Georger, I thought Carra lined up as the ...Actually Georger, I thought Carra lined up as the left-sided CB in preparation for him playing LB on Thursday. I think Agger, like Masch, was just rested after last Thursday.

The Torres' substitution is completely understandable, and merits less criticism that taking over Gerrard for Lucas three years ago (neither deserved criticism, mind). If Liverpool weren't in such deep shit, Torres probably wouldn't have started.

I'm most frustrated about no Babel, for all the reasons explained in the preview and Benayoun's anonymity, and Liverpool's lack of a midfield presence. Again, Lucas/Gerrard was understandable given the need to rest Masch and Aquilani's questionable fitness, but Liverpool would have been better served by showing more control in the center of the pitch.natehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10043601945557998732noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33779660.post-9802477445497014292010-04-04T16:39:46.909-04:002010-04-04T16:39:46.909-04:00shouldn't be surprised at the outcome but i am...shouldn't be surprised at the outcome but i am .. with the amount of chances we had in the last quarter we should have easily put that one to rest ..

the substitution is going to be the major talking point but in all fairness i think Ngog did a great job .. the poise and control he showed was impressive .. now all he has to do is put it in the net DAMNIT.steven.http://www.paisleygates.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33779660.post-31197636232568600702010-04-04T14:55:13.349-04:002010-04-04T14:55:13.349-04:00Oh jesus christ it's Insua who is suspended no...Oh jesus christ it's Insua who is suspended not Agger I'm losing my mind! Of course that makes sense then if Agger is going to be playing fullback.

derrrrrBackBergtthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01916269531937171514noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33779660.post-51715517569848572102010-04-04T14:46:29.860-04:002010-04-04T14:46:29.860-04:00(Agger is suspended in Europe I don't think hi...(Agger is suspended in Europe I don't think him sitting had anything to do with Europe, moreso getting the Greek some time as he will be playing I would think)

Didn't get to see the game due to traveling. If I really wanted to I probably could have, but this never felt like a win going in to it. Got the impression from people watching it that Ngog couldn't score in a whore house with a gift card though.

Villa could still well catch us. Seventh is a more real possibility than fourth now it seems, just can't see City dropping all the points AND us not dropping points outside of the Chelsea game. At this point I just hope we finish above Spurs, cold day in hell before I take crap from that lot, and as City fans don't exist in this country I'm not terribly worried about them! If the difference between CL and EL qualification is around 20 million pounds or so, well, how much is that really going to matter without investment? Not a damn bit. I know off the field and whatnot but I think the long term stuff is well beyond the players' control at this point.

The Spurs result was great to watch, I cannot believe Zenden scored that goal.

Was the Aquilani block of the winning goal as bad as people made it seem? I feel bad for him at this point.BackBergtthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01916269531937171514noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33779660.post-56569792075684060392010-04-04T14:45:46.497-04:002010-04-04T14:45:46.497-04:00Definitely a bold decision by Rafa, and had it pai...Definitely a bold decision by Rafa, and had it paid off, we'd all be singing his praises. But the disparity between Ngog's and Torres' finishing ability is too great in my opinion to remove Torres with the desperate need for three points at this point in the season.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06706084045105286914noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33779660.post-40837604190116211202010-04-04T14:04:41.838-04:002010-04-04T14:04:41.838-04:00I agree with Rafa subbing Torres. The result was quite obvious after Ngog came on... We had far more chances.

Maxi and Ngog should have converted their chances though...Abhiramhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08162307543681955974noreply@blogger.com
